What Is The Lemonade Diet?

The “lemonade diet” is a type of homemade cleansing remedy in which you consume a special drink made from fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper and agave syrup or honey.   It is also known as the “Maser Cleanses

There are several ways to use the lemonade diet.  The most extreme is to fast exclusively on the lemon drink for a period of 10 to 30 days.  The most gentle way is to drink 8 oz of the mixture upon waking up for a period of 1-2 months.

Does the lemonade diet cleanse the colon?

Fasting on the lemon drink for 5-10 days does promote some colon  cleansing.   However, it does not help the body release layers of mucoid plaque that are built up in the intestine.

I know this from personal experience.  Once, I completed a thorough herbal colon cleanse after 10 days on the lemonade diet.  I was amazed at the amount of plaque that came out of my body out once I began to take the herbs.

For that reason, I’d say that the lemonade diet is good as a beginning colon cleanse, but is not complete way to cleanse the colon.
